Hypnosis and Physical Problems
PSYCHOSOMATIC PROBLEMS affect many clients attending my Plymouth hypnotherapy
practice. These problems occur when the mind affects the body, causing physical symptoms,
A great many physical symptoms may be caused by the mind, rather than by physical
disease. These can include itching and skin rashes, muscular aches, severe pain, and
digestive problems such as vomiting and diarrhoea.
clients do not feel emotionally disturbed, but this is simply because their emotions have
become entirely transformed into physical symptoms. Hypnotherapy also helps by direct;y
changing the experience of symptoms, for instance by calming skin irritation. The function
of internal organs, such as the intestines, can be improved by direct and indirect suggestion.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION by your GP is essential before beginning hypnotherapy. Your GP
needs to rule out purely physical causes of your symptoms. Once your GP has confirmed
that your symptoms are psychosomatic, hypnotherapy treatment can begin.
